It's Fall!

Back to the blog! It's been a while since I've posted anything so I thought I would do so today. We've had a busy morning of cleaning and decluttering and James has been such a good sport. I've learned that if I let him play in water in the sink with his car cars or his planes, he is occupied for quite some time :)

.

Mason is 3 weeks and 5 days old. He's just checking out the world, eating, sleeping and going through a lot of diapers. He is so cuddly and sweet. Jerky movements still. I'm looking forward to a smile.

This was taken this morning. James is 23 months old. His birthday party is in a month. I can't believe my booger will be two!! James was helping "mommy wipe". He was cleaning our fridge here. He is mostly naked because he soaked himself playing in the sink with his cars. He is saying "cheeeese" here.

Sept. 26th (mon). After a morning trip to the zoo and a good nap.. James loves making muffins and cupcakes. I give all credit to my mom, B. I fastened an old apron on him and he loved it. He loves chocolate and "peecoles" (sprinkles). after this activity, we went to the library with Robin, Anna, and Elizabeth and checked out some videos and books.

Aunt Lindsey, James has not forgotten "cheers"!! He does it with everything matching.. socks, spoons, cups, napkins.. he is so funny.

Sept. 24th (Sat). James likes to "hole Mason" (hold Mason). He is a good big brother. I am working on the no hitting issue but, otherwise, he's an all-star big bro. p.s Jim is an amazing daddy.

Cuties!! A few years ago, before the boys were even imagined, Jim and I got a roomba vacuum cleaner. Jim had decided since our house is "too full of girls" with me, Reagan (our female springer spaniel (5 years old at the time) and Abby (his female cat), we named the Roomba "Ron". I'm thinking we should change his name to Rhonda.. :) We have plenty of boys in the house now.

Now for show and tell :0) Here are a couple of crafty things I've done in the past week or two. I got the wreath idea from pinterest (www.pinterest.com - you must join!!). I actually hemmed the burlap ribbon myself.
I think I will change out the colors and flowers on these and use them for all of the different seasons!

Monogramming and appliquéing on one pillow. There was a stain on the upper right corner of the pillow so I got a little creative. I hope Mason likes giraffes.

Mason's room in progress:

The rug is a Restoration Hardware one. We have the crib and changing table ordered. The big last detail will be the bumper and accent pillows, etc. I will update these as I go along :)

SOOO cute. This just went up in his room. It needs to be centered. Sadly, I am not responsible for this picture.. I wish I could paint like that!

B and Doc's house.. photo shoot

First of all
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AUNT LINDSEY!!!!! We love you and can't wait too hang out again very soon!

Well, we are well on our way to being three weeks old. Not too fast, buster!! We need to get some photos before you have a say as to how you move around.. Anyway, I got these tonight in B and Doc's room because Mason was sleepy and the bedspread was too perfect.. at least that's what I gather from all of the photographer's newborn photos. Maggie B is taking photos of Mason on Thursday which will be great too! (and obviously way more professional).

Welcome, Mason!

We have an addition to the family! I hate to say that I'm 13 days and 20 hours late on the announcement. On September the 1st, 2011 at 7:49 am, we welcomed our second baby boy into our Galbraith family: Mason Alexander Galbraith (yes, I misspelled it on the sign)! We have all been so blessed with this little one. He was 7lb 11oz, 20 inches long and healthy! I have taken a bunch of pictures along the way and wanted to put them all in a slide show. The easiest slide show I could figure out on short notice is Kodak but Flickr is suppose to be great too. Hopefully, I'll get that figured out. My big Mac will do great slide shows too.

James is doing well with the addition. He is going to be a wonderful big brother!

Sweet :)

Love you all,
Melissa

Cutie

Just thought I would post some recent photos in an outfit we were suppose to get some good photos in at the beach. James got sick at the beach and we ended up not doing photos but I did stick him in this before they left for the tetons and got some shots of him in it.

Jim and James are in the Tetons with my family so I've got time to update the blog :)

Congrats to Lindsey and Jason on their recent engagement!! So excited for the two of you!

Much love,

Melissa

This is parenting...

Well,

We've been trying to stay mostly inside except for the past two days where the overcast weather has kept us in the 80s. Otherwise, however, we are mostly inside. Being nearly 7 months pregnant and having a toddler, I haven't done any triathalons or marathons :) I don't get to spend as much time with my phone as usual because James' new best friend is the puppy dog on my phone that repeats everything he says. James is such a talker even more now than ever. I am feeling good. I can't wait to meet this baby and I'm excited that we haven't found out the sex. Jim is taking James to the Tetons in about two weeks with my family and I will get to organize my thoughts on what steps to make once we find out the sex of this baby. We also get a visit from Aunt Lindsey very soon and I've been talking to James about this.. Maybe Aunt Lindsey and instill some cooking wisdom on me and I can make some dishes to freeze.

I did have a 32 week check up last week where the doctor said the heartbeat was "a little on the lower side" so she guessed boy but it wasn't much lower than 140 (I think it was closer to 135). The baby is moving and kicking. I have had heartburn and am entering back into a pretty tired zone. I'm glad I can rest when James does because that will all change again very soon.

Oh, I am 30 now! I actually had a nice birthday. I spent the first half of the day at work working on PALS and then came home andwe had Wick and Anna over (with their mama's and Anna's little sister of course). I just shot this about 10 minutes ago. It shows you how tall James has gotten and some of his language skills. He never seizes to amaze me and I've never felt so much love and protectiveness.. this is parenting.

Happy summer and stay cool,

Melissa
