Thought this was cute

Well, the books are telling me to put him in front of mirrors so... I did :) It's weird but, because February is a short month, James is only three weeks away from being 5 months old. I know I seem very "funny" about keeping up with exact weeks/days/months but I know this will fly by and I will wonder where I was exactly with each of these videos, etc.

The project downstairs is almost done!! I'll get video of it in a minute and come back and put it on here!

4 months old today!

Wow! The time flies. I can't believe we are here: 1/3 of the way through the first year with James. I got these videos today of him. So stinkin cute. I can tell he is processing so much.

Things are good. James is sleeping from 6pm-6am (with one to two feeds in there) and seems to work well with a schedule. At this point, I started to take Fenugreek to help me produce more milk which is seeming to help. I take note of these things because, if there is a second baby, I will be able to remember what I did and at what times and anyone else who would like to know where I was at this point can. Other things.. well, it started to warm up here so I've been getting him outside when it's warm. He has his 4 month check up tomorrow with Dr. McCain and we are excited. James seems to have a dry rash that I want to ask about and I'm still uncertain if I should be feeding him when he cries at night or "Ferberizing" him (letting him cry). It's just really hard to let your baby cry when you know you can calm him quickly with some food. He is also sucking his first two fingers a lot on his right hand (exhibit C). Apparently this is a big deal.

I've also gotten into using alice.com. For those of you who don't know what it is, you should check it out. It's nice to be able to order TP, deodorant, cat food, cat treats, etc. with free shipping. No hastle of the store. I also have become a huge fan of www.thepoineerwoman.com. Quite an amazing woman and extremely talented.

Well, off to change a poooy diaper :) then to bed for little one! I'll end with this picture. Got this shirt in the mail and thought the pics turned out cute.

Much love to you all,

Growing up fast Galbraith!

This is a video of Coleson (Alli and Burton Gooch's 1 yo), Aidan (Charlene and Keith Lee's almost 7 month old), and James (our 4 month old). It is hilarious! Aidan and James look the same size (actually, I think James is bigger than A!). Too cute

The construction downstairs should be done very soon! We had a couple of delays with the cabinets (and still some exist) but everything is looking great. I can't wait to have people over! Seriously.

I took a picture of James today as he slept because I wanted to remember this... random. He is 17 weeks old here (two days away from his 4 month old birthday!).

February Fluries and Squealing baby boy!

Well, today is much better it seems as far as the weather is going. I see the sun and clear blue skies! Last Friday, we got about 3 inches of snow. I think Dallas got a whole foot of snow. That has all melted now. It is still pretty cold outside, but things are better. We only have one more week to go for the basement to be done! The cabinet guy is coming tomorrow and then we get countertops, painting, carpeting, and maybe some other little things but then we are done! You all will have a place to stay.

James is talking away as I type. He is so entertaining now! I can't believe how much difference three months makes but, my goodness!! it is amazing. I do have some videos. I am still looking for my other camera cord (the always-lost camera cord) but I got these videos with our flip video recorder.

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day. Happy belated birthday to Kate Totty!! She's the best! Also, B's birthday is just around the corner!! So fun.

Love you!

Bundle up!

I'm feeling cooped up today... and I'm not really desiring to get out either because of the chill (and baby). I have piles and piles of things I need to be doing and I can't seem to get it together. I got a couple of things done while James napped this morning but they are so minimal, I can't even count them. It's sad when one of the things on the mental to do list is to finish watching the bachelor then delete from DVR (done). "B" was here for two days so I went to work and ran errunds which was nice. I miss my little man, though, when I'm out.

Thanks for those of you who are posting comments. I like reading them. They spur me to continue on with the blog.

Things James is doing now at (gasp) almost 16 weeks old include having a bedtime of 6pm (ish) to about 6am (ish) with only waking, at most, twice in the night but usually only once to feed then right back down. He is smiling all the time. He can control his head so we've been putting him in all kinds of new toys he has. I think his favorite is the discovery gym from baby einstein. It is an endless amusement park for him. Mama loves! He takes three to four naps per day (usually three). He has the most joyful eyes. I can tell he's learning so much every day. He's drooling all over the place and loves to shove his left fist into his mouth as far as it will go. B thinks he is teething... I'm not sure. I read somewhere that it's around now that babies drool a ton anyway so.. we'll be looking for the pearly whites anyway.

I made BBQ brisket for some girls last friday night. It was the girls that all first lived together when we all moved to Birmingham: Katie Fanning Dixon, Kate MacIntosh Graham, Michelle Bloch and me. It was fun and I didn't blow the recipe. I not only made the brisket but also the BBQ sauce. It was really good. I didn't take a picture but the recipe is

If you are a new mama, soon to be mama, or a mama of any child probably under 2ish, I recommend the lullaby channel on Pandora. We've really enjoyed it.

Well, again, I can't find the camera cord to download the video from today so I will return later to put the video up :)

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Bundle up!
